Family Day – April 16, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The April Family Day theme will be “Space!” in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first human launched into space (Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961) and the 30th anniversary of the first space shuttle launch (April 12, 1981)!
Participants of all ages will be able to learn about many aspects of traveling and living in space through demonstration stations and hands-on activities that explain why an astronaut floats in space, how astronauts train for spacewalks, how a rocket engine works and more. One activity will allow visitors to try their hand at landing a model space shuttle!
