This Easter go “Green” with your Easter Eggs with these recipes for homemade natural Easter Egg Dye!

Pink Egg Dye

1 – 15 ounce jar of beets
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vinegar

  1. Bring beets & water to a boil.
  2. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour mixture through a colander into a bowl to separate the liquid.
  4. Cool, then stir in vinegar.

Should take 5 – 15 minutes to set on the eggs, depending on how deep you want your colors.

Yellow Egg Dye

1 Tbl turmeric or curry powder
2 cups water

  1. Bring spice & water to a boil.
  2. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Cool.

Should take 5 – 15 minutes to set on the eggs, depending on how deep you want your colors.

Green Egg Dye

1 cup water
3 chlorophyll capsules (available at vitamin or health food stores)

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Then remove from heat.
  3. Open up the capsules and stir the contents into the water.
  4. Cool.

Should take 5 – 15 minutes to set on the eggs, depending on how deep you want your colors.

Blue / Purple Egg Dye

2 cups frozen blueberries
2 cups water
1 tsp vinegar

  1. Bring blueberries & water to a boil.
  2. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour through a colander into a bowl to separate the liquid.
  4. Cool, then stir in vinegar.

Should take 5 – 15 minutes to set on the eggs, depending on how deep you want your colors.

Blue Egg Dye

1/2 head of cabbage
2 cups water
1 tsp vinegar

  1. Boil cabbage & water.
  2. Remove the cabbage pieces.
  3. Cool, then stir in vinegar.

This dye will take several hours to set on the eggs.
