Made On Skin Care Review & Giveaway

Made On Skin Care

I have been trying to find healthy and environmentally friendly skin care products as I try to take small steps to go green. After finding out that the lotion I was using had a high hazard rating of 9 on the Skin Deep Cosmetic Database and contained chemicals that were linked to causing cancer! I began searching for better options and came across Made On Skin Care products!

I am please to say that all Made On products have a low hazard rating on the Skin Deep Cosmetic Database. So I contacted the company and asked them to send me products to review myself and for my readers. Made On supplied me with the Bee Silk Lotion Bar, Au Chocolat Lotion Bar and their Bug Block Bar to review.

Made On uses all natural products such as beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter & cocoa butter in their hard lotion products. The hard lotion is designed to soften with your body temperature and can easily be applied by rubbing the bar on your skin. (You can find answers to common questions regarding hard lotion on their website.)

I must say that the “hard lotion” took some time to get used to, I mean I have been using chemically laced liquid lotions for 30+ years! (I’m not telling you how old I am! :) ) After several uses it didn’t seem so foreign anymore. The hard lotion does leave a slight oily residue on the skin, but the skin quickly absorbs it.

After using the Bee Silk hard lotion for several weeks I can see a noticeable difference in the dryness of my skin, especially on my heels!

CAUTION: The Au Chocolat bar should not be used when you are hungry!!! This bar uses cocoa butter which has a slight natural cocoa scent and makes me want a brownie! Fun aside this bar works great as well and leaves a nice scent on the skin.

Last but not least my absolute favorite product was the Bug Bar! This bar works great and the kids can apply it themselves! We tried it on our drive-in movie night and we didn’t have a single bite! My 2 year old really loved rubbing the bar on her skin, so much that I almost didn’t get it back! If you are looking for a natural bug replant that is safe for your kids I highly recommend the Made On Bug Bar!

For frugal Do-It-Yourself readers you can order a DIY Kit that now includes The Buttered Life e-book FREE!

I am interested in the The Bug Block! I live in Florida (where the “skeeters” are vicious) and hate using those sprays that leave you feeling oily or the lotions that leave you feeling sticky. And don’t even get me started on the chemicals they have in them! The Bug Block sounds like the PERFECT way for me to avoid being bitten and to feel good about the product I am putting on my skin!
