Homeschool: September in Review

I can’t believe it is already the second week of October! I am enjoying this beautiful fall weather and we are trying to get outside as much as possible!

September went out with a bang as the last two weeks either the girls were sick or I was sick! Here are some of the fun things we did during the month of September!

crane fly A crane fly got into the house when some of the neighbor kids came over. The kids were scared of the gigantic mosquito, but Alana was able to explain to them that it was just a crane fly, not a mosquito and it would not hurt them!
flower Alana and daddy got to make a model of a flower from The World of Plants… it even included pollen (cornmeal)!
loom Here Alana is weaving on a loom we made, just like the ones we read about in The Usborne Book of World History.
picture to Tessa Alana colored a beautiful picture for her pen pal Tessa. It is a picture of the painted turtle we found in our backyard this summer.
Now I just need to mail it… does anyone else have that problem?
seeds We got to dissect and examine a dicot and monocot seed.
tent Alana had fun creating tents this month just like the ones we read about in our Houses and Homes history book.
tent She even made one with a dividing curtain one side was for cooking and the other side was for sleeping.

What fun things have you been doing with your homeschool? We would love to hear about them in the comments below!
