This spring I needed some larger planting containers and I had the great idea to use plastic milk jug containers! I’m sure I’m not the first to think of this idea, but the milk jugs work beautifully.
So I asked my husband to cut some milk containers for me and he took it a step further by leaving the handle on the milk jug. What an ingenious idea! This makes transporting the planting containers much easier!
This can be done with any type of plastic 1 gallon container.

When I make homemade salad dressing I want a container that I can easily fill, shake and pour and this cafe-mate liquid coffee creamer bottle is perfect! I can easily unscrew the cap, and fill the container using a funnel. Then I simply screw the cap back on and shake. Pop open cap and pour dressing over your fresh salad greens!

Here is a great way to reuse those yard signs. Turn yard signs into garage sale signs, open house signs or party signs!
These particular yard signs where made from a glossy thin cardboard, so here is what you need to do:
- Using a staple remover remove all the staples that were securing the sign.
- Fold the cardboard sign inside out and re-staple onto the sign posts.
- Then decorate the sign for your use.
- Garage Sale / Yard Sale
- Birthday Party
- Baby Shower
- Graduation Party
- Birthday Announcement
- Birth Announcement
- Welcome Home Sign
- House for Rent / Sale
Here we were having a garage sale so I printed some sheets off of the computer and secured them to each sign. (I was in a hurry and wanted to be neat and readable, but you can get really create with decorating your signs!)
What ideas do you have for reusing these signs? We would love to here them in the comments below.

OK, this has to be the easiest reuse project I have ever seen and anyone can do it! It is so simple but yet so useful!
Are you like me and constantly loosing bookmarks or just shoving whatever you can find into your book to mark your spot? Next time you are in need of a bookmark, simply pull out your junk mail. Clip a corner off of an envelope…

… and Ta Da, you have your own sleek bookmark!
My 2 year old is constantly pulling my bookmarks out of my books! These new bookmarks are hard for her to spot and therefore easier for me to keep my place! Sometimes it’s the simplest ideas that make a big difference! I wish I could claim this idea but I didn’t, this great idea came from Junk Mail Gems!
